Building community leadership

An important part of building a sustainable Learning Community is to support the development of community leaders who understand and appreciate the critical role that lifelong learning plays in creating an equitable, inclusive, harmonious community. The City of Wyndham continues to demonstrate its commitment to its Learning Community strategy by sponsoring the ongoing Community Leadership Building Blocks program (delivered by Victoria University) as part of its City Plan. This program aims to support the contribution of individuals towards Wyndham as a diverse, active and well supported and connected community with high participation in local and municipal community life.

In a further development though, of its Learning Community strategy, the current Building Blocks program focuses on the City's Learning Community Strategy - bringing together people with a passion to make a difference, as well as key organisations, to invent new responses to the learning challenges and opportunities in the community.

We will be presenting on Global Perspectives in Learning Communities at one of the sessions and look forward to engaging with those partners who have taken their commitment seriously and are carving out new ground in professional development in Learning Communities.
