Getting ideas and input from the experience of experts is an effective step in developing a Learning City. Wyndham Council's Education Portfolio Committee embarked on that step by inviting Peter Blunden from the City of Melton to talk to them at their recent meeting. Peter is internationally recognised for his experience in learning community development and in his role as Melton's Lifelong Learning Officer he has steered the City to take its place among the leading Learning Cities in the world. Peter was warmly welcomed by the Portfolio Committee who had many questions about the practicalities of elevating the profile of learning in the community and about the development of effective partnerships. Peter has agreed to mentor the Portfolio Committee as it progresses the development of Wyndham as a Learning City.
