Becoming a Learning City

Together with our colleague, Dr Jude Walker, we have presented a process to the City of Wyndham Employment, Education and Training Portfolio Committee to develop Wyndham as an international Learning City. Already using the ACELG Learning Community Framework (below), the Portfolio's Learning Community Strategy is beginning to link the work that has been happening locally to the international agenda. In embarking on the development of the next Strategy, the Portfolio Committee will oversee the mapping of the hierarchy of key documents (such as the UNESCO Framework, the ACELG resources and key Council documents) to ensure alignment. Use of these resources will ensure that the process is guided and evaluated using best practice tools and approaches. This includes setting timeframes and wrapping ongoing professional development around the process, for Portfolio members, staff, Council Executive and community.
